
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!
In today's economy, helping young people prepare for careers and connect to jobs is more important than ever. The 5th Annual Let’s Get It Started Youth Job Fair is looking for volunteers to pitch in and help out.
WANTED: VOLUNTEER "AMBASSADORS"
At the Fair, youth will meet face to face with the area’s employers and vendors, who will come ready to hire and educate young people. We expect over 1,000 youth to attend and expect to feature 70 business participants and community organizations. Sponsored by Montgomery County’s Workforce Investment Board Youth Council, Let’s Get It Started Youth Job Fair 2010 is a partnership of the Workforce Investment Board, LAYC/Maryland Multicultural Youth Centers (MMYC), and MontgomeryWorks One-Stop career center.
We need a group of dedicated volunteer "Ambassadors" to make the Fair a success. Ambassadors will serve as preparation consultants, event hosts, providing directions, information and assistance to help attendees maximize their experience. Ambassadors will volunteer on March 19th and 20th for a total of 16 hours. Ambassadors should be:
- comfortable interacting with people
- comfortable providing directions and information (Ambassadors will receive a brief orientation at the start of their shift with the pertinent background details)
- proactive, enthusiastic and responsible
- ready to volunteer outdoors
